With the addition of their new automated Trumpf TruBend 7036 press brake, Kalow has increased their output significantly.
The metal shop team at Kalow Technologies is excited to acquire The Trumpf TruBend 7036 robotic press brake known for its high speed, accuracy, ergonomics, and compact design. This new brake is suitable for bending small to medium-sized parts with efficiency and precision. “It puts us on the cutting edge of US manufacturing, with advanced factory automation technologies that make us more productive and even more precise,” Fabrication Manager, Adam Mason, told us when we visited Kalow’s recently expanded contract manufacturing plant in Rutland.
“The new press brake machine can bend multiple assemblies at the same time, or, with a series of dies placed in a row, we can create very complicated shapes quickly,” Mason added.
Using a press brake machine can be dangerous work—especially when workers are repeating the same motions over and over to complete a large custom order. The ergonomics of this machine help to reduce repetitive motion stress injuries. The Cell’s automated system handles loading and tool changes as well as the bending, so our workers can operate it from outside, at a safe distance from a machine that can apply tons of force. And the 7036 can apply up to 40 tons of press force to bend thick metal plates as needed along its 40” table length.
Highlights of the TruBend 7036:
- Speed and Efficiency:
The TruBend 7036 boasts high bending speeds and acceleration, allowing for faster part production and quicker setup times. - Accuracy and Precision:
It offers excellent positional accuracy, ensuring consistent and precise bends ensuring industry-leading tight tolerances and very low failure rates. - Versatility:
This machine can handle a wide range of materials and thicknesses, making it suitable for all the various applications Kalow’s clients require. - Ease of Use:
Features like automatic angle measurement and a touchpoint control interface simplify operation and reduce setup times. - Ergonomics:
The TruBend 7036 is designed with operator comfort in mind, featuring adjustable features like arm and foot rests, a pivoting control panel, and the option to work seated, minimizing strain and maximizing efficiency. - Safety Features:
The machine incorporates safety features including the BendGuard Automatic, which moves autonomously to the height of the mounted tools, ensuring safe operation for our metal workers.
The full automation of the 7036 with the Loadmaster and conveyer helps Kalow’s fabrication team get custom sheet metal forming jobs done faster while freeing manpower up for other tasks, increasing overall productivity, according to Mason. “What this means for our customers is that Kalow is now able to tackle a range of demanding custom metal forming jobs faster, and meet extremely tight parts tolerances for uniquely-shaped metal forms”.
